   This week Jessica, myself and my new student, HRH Prince Abdullah Al Saud are heading to La Coruna, another beautiful show on the north west coast of Spain. It is held at the magnificent Casas Novas Riding Club and will have two world ranking classes every day.  The following week I will be home to train and commute every day to watch the CHIO Aachen. Aachen is without a doubt the best jumping horse show in the world and something I look forward to every year.  Then I will return to Portugal for a week in Vimeiro, also on the coast, just 70 kms north of Lisbon. Our horses will remain at Casas Novas until the ship to Vimeiro. I look forward to three fun filled weeks!!

   On the 8th to the 10th of January I was very honored to be involved with the Emerging Athlete Program. The Finals were held at Julie Winkel's ranch in Reno, Nevada where the 12 finalists from the various clinics during the year met for this final clinic and competition. I tought the finalists for two days and then on the third day we ran a mini Nations Cup type competition where the riders were asked to compete over a difficult course. We awarded two overall winners, Richard Neal and Carly Anthony. Check out the Emerging Athletes Program through the USHJA website. It is a great program developped by Melanie Smith Taylor.  I was very happy to have included Dover Saddlery as a main sponsor of the Finals and I know Dover was very enthusiastic to support such a great program.  

   I am happy to say that I have accepted the position again as clinician for the 2010 Emerging Athletes Program Final which will take place the third weekend in November at SBS Farms in Buffalo, N.Y. I really look forward to this weekend as I know there is a huge movement toward making this final very special.
